Allison Markovich, AIA
Originally from Delaware, Allison attended the University of Notre Dame. Attracting her to the architecture program was its emphasis on hand drawing and watercolor presentations, along with a full year of study in Rome, Italy. A curriculum in furniture building allowed her to explore design as it becomes a reality. This led to an expanded appreciation for craft and construction detailing. In 2005, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Architecture and Concentration in Furniture Design and Construction.
Allison’s professional career began Chicago, with positions at HBRA Architects and Northworks Architects and Planners. She spent ten years there, working on projects ranging from home additions to collegiate museums. Her primary focus has been in custom residential, with an emphasis on client collaboration and interior detailing. She has designed homes in a variety of contexts, from estates in Chicago’s North Shore to a farmhouse in rural Iowa.
In 2015, Allison moved to Asheville and joined Carlton-Edwards. She and her husband enjoy the culture and cuisine that this vibrant city has to offer, set within the wonderful natural terrain of Western North Carolina.
Allison is a licensed Architect, NCARB certified, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
