A Memphis native, J.D. attended Auburn University and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the College of Architecture, Design and Construction in 2003. While at Auburn, J.D. had both the opportunity to study in Europe and in the school’s design-build thesis program, Rural Studio. This education introduced him to the idea of a “citizen architect” and continues to inspire him to use his skills to better the community. It also spawned his desire to be creative with traditional materials and be a good steward of the environment.
J.D. has previously served as a board member for the local AIA and participated in multiple non-profit housing projects. In 2014 he joined Carlton-Edwards as an Architect and Project Manager and brings with him a diverse background working in both small and large firms.
