We’re honored to share that our Turkey Ridge Residence is the featured cover story in the latest issue of Carolina Home and Garden. The article, “A Temperate Outlook,” explores how this Scandinavian-inspired farmhouse embodies the quiet complexity that defines Carlton Edwards’ mountain-modern approach — refined craftsmanship, restrained materials, and a seamless connection to the landscape.
Architecture Rooted in Place
Set on a four-acre property in Fletcher, North Carolina, the Turkey Ridge Residence is designed to rest gently within its setting. Simple forms and enduring materials create a sense of permanence and calm. The design draws from Scandinavian restraint while responding to the mountain climate with modern precision.
A base of Arriscraft architectural brick in Midnight Grey grounds the home within the landscape. Above it, slatted cedar siding introduces warmth and texture, softening the façade as it gracefully silvers with age. Floor-to-ceiling glazing draws daylight deep into the interiors, framing panoramic views of rolling hills and open sky. As a result, the home feels at once grounded and expansive.

Integrated Design-Build-Interiors
Every element—from concealed roof drainage and floating cantilevers to custom millwork and refined finishes—was realized through Carlton Edwards’ integrated design-build-interiors process. This unified approach ensures material continuity, precise detailing, and a seamless experience from concept to completion.
Inside, natural textures and clean geometry create a calm rhythm. In turn, each space contributes to a continuous dialogue between structure, craft, and landscape. The result is a home that feels composed, intentional, and deeply connected to its environment.

A Home in Harmony
Rather than rise above the hillside, Turkey Ridge settles into it. Its muted tones and low rooflines echo the horizon, allowing the landscape to lead. In essence, the home embodies Carlton Edwards’ belief that true sophistication lies in balance—where design, build, and interiors align in harmony.
