The most recent issue of Carolina Home & Garden features Nethermead Residence in The Ramble at Biltmore Forest. The home was designed by Carlton Edwards for Charleston natives, who wanted a mountain home that was “out-of-the-box,” and a departure from their traditional home in South Carolina.
Nethermead, with its expansive glass and contemporary colonial-meets-mountain aesthetic, breaks tradition while still fitting within the Ramble’s strict design code. The interior design by Alchemy Design Studio showcases an array of natural materials: a rainbow of regionally sourced wood, Carolina broke stone, and oiled steel–all of which accentuate the architectural details of the home.
Careful attention was paid during construction to ensure that the home was built with health in mind, and the residence has been awarded a Bronze rating by the North Carolina HealthyBuilt Home Program.
