The interiors of the Wildcat Residence were conceived as a dialogue between art, architecture, and landscape. Set high in the mountains above Asheville, the home reflects a deeply personal vision—an architectural response to the owners’ lifelong passion for fine art and glass sculpture.
Carlton Edwards worked closely with the clients to shape spaces that honor their collection while preserving an atmosphere of quiet restraint. Each piece of art is not merely displayed but integrated, influencing proportion, materiality, and light. In the dedicated glass gallery, illuminated niches and curated lighting allow the art to glow with jewel-like precision, transforming the space into both a sanctuary and an exhibition.
The stair hall, positioned beside the glass gallery and anchored by the same expressive materials, serves as a transitional moment—offering glimpses of both art and landscape as one moves between levels.
From the luminous bath enveloped in glass to the intimate media room and integrated bar, every interior reflects a sensitivity to craft and curation. The result is a modern mountain home that feels at once serene and personal—a composition shaped by art, light, and the spirit of its inhabitants.
The interiors of the Wildcat Residence express Carlton Edwards’ signature approach to luxury mountain living—warm, modern, and artfully composed. Through natural materials, custom craftsmanship, and careful lighting, each space balances serenity with sophistication. This project reflects the studio’s holistic philosophy of architecture and interiors in harmony, creating a refined environment rooted in Asheville’s mountain landscape.
